They all maintain their services from March 15 to November 15, being the strong season from May 31 to September 28, as highlighted by the City Council.

In summer, the beach of Barcelona is rather crowded, both day and night times. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightclubs around this area.

Barcelona has more than 4 km long beach excellently equipped with numerous showers, deck chairs, and ambulances.

So what are all these beaches?

BARCELONA BEACH SANT SEBASTIÀ

BARCELONA BEACH SANT MIQUEL

It is one of the oldest in the city and is about 420 meters long. Located next to the Plaza del Mar, it is a bustling point on the Barcelona coast. Its name comes from the church of Sant Miquel del Port, built-in 1755.

BARCELONA BEACH BARCELONETA

BARCELONA BEACH SOMORROSTRO

A beach with historical memory. This stretch of coastline, together with a part of Barceloneta beach and the current Nova Icària and Bogatell beaches, was home to the Somorrostro barracks neighborhood, where some 15,000 people lived in very precarious conditions.

BARCELONA BEACH NOVA ICÀRIA

Along with Bogatell, it has the most extended length of stay for users, probably because it’s the quietest in the city. In addition, this year, the Ecoplayas flag flies in recognition of its quality and services.

BARCELONA BEACH BOGATELL

It has leisure equipment, such as two ping-pong tables, a soccer field in the middle of the beach and a volleyball area at the other end, touching the Mar Bella breakwater.

BARCELONA BEACH MAR BELLA

It was created taking advantage of the urban remodeling of the coastline in 1992 for the Olympic Games. It has a loyal public and has a space dedicated to a nudist beach. However, one of the areas is known for the widespread practice of cruising among homosexuals.

BARCELONA BEACH NOVA MAR BELLA

Like its namesake, it is part of the beaches created when it definitively recovered Barcelona’s coastline. Users are primarily residents of the Sant Martí district, where the beach is located.

BARCELONA BEACH LEVANT

It is the last beach created on the Barcelona coast. It was incorporated into the city in 2006 and is approximately 375 meters long. It is the dog area that has aroused love and hate in equal parts since its foundation.

The dog beach continues on the LLevant beach / Ajuntament Barcelona.

SWIMMING AREA OF THE BARCELONA BEACH FÒRUM

There is no sand, but bathing is allowed in this area. Access is possible from paved surfaces through the use of stairs. About 350 meters in length you can practice sports.
